My bet is this was already in the works before the 7-7 attacks, but the Brits are allegedly planning to install "millimeter wave imagers" in their tube stations. The technology detects variations in reflected sunlight, effectively making soft materials transparent to the sensors.
My guess is this will lead to either a new body-conscious culture in London, or a complete collapse of subway ridership.
